Moving map G1000

Apologies if I am missing something obvious, but I am trying to get to grips with the G1000. I have watched video tutorials and searched this forum but can't get the answer.

I am unable to get the moving map with topo features to display; I have a permanent blue screen with airport, VOR etc features. Clicking on topo and terrain makes no difference, and cycling the different map pages doesn't help

The map shows on the waypoint page but overlapped by engine information and a data input box on the right.

There's probably a simple answer but this relative novice can't figure it!
