GPU crashing on P3D load till i set multiple display performance

Featured Replies

Hi

Win7 [email protected] was 4.8Ghz   GTX TitanX

You ladies need to know this

for about a decade always wondered about single or multiple display perf in NVidia settings.

Always had mine set to single display cause I use main screenfor p3d  and other smaller screen  for panels.

However uping my cpu OC, resulted in crashes of gpu on p3d load.

After several hours fuming, update to latest NVidia driver, observed that when the crash occurs p3d screen is ok for short while but panel screen dies ugly death. Decided to change from single to multiple display perf in NVidia setting.

And I cant believe it, now testing gpu OC that is almost twice what I had before and still no crash.

So if yours second screen is only doing panels, looks like still best to set multiple display performance.

Still testing my insane GPU clock (secret), but wow, no more single display performance in NVIDIA

Multiple display perf is the default, I respect default settings a bit more now.

The multiple display/single display setting is for OpenGL programs/games only and is supposed to have no effect on DirectX games like P3D.

So it's a bit weird you are seeing any difference.

Basically the difference is night and day.

All of the GPU OC settings I struggled with before have now doubled in frequency and still stable.

Totally unbelievable and frankly shocking.  Cause in my case I am able to double GPU OC by setting multiple display.
