Help with External Default Views

I am experiencing this annoying problem with my default views that I am hoping someone here can help me out with. I an running P3Dv3.1 with TrackIR5 and EZCA 1.187 all installed. My viewing problem occurs when I select an exterior default view like Locked Spot. While in Locked Spot view, I temporarily disable TrackIR because I like to control the view using my mouse for which I have assigned the Space bar in the P3Dv3 view control settings Mouse - Control view direction (on/off).

The issue I have is when I press space bar in Locked Spot, I can control the view direction with my mouse as expected but the darn view keeps snapping back to the default view position which makes for an annoying viewing experience while panning around the aircraft! I have checked all the other default view settings but not sure what may be causing this. Any help would be much appreciated.
