September 12, 200520 yr I am having quite a queer problem with using ATC that doesn't involve how it acts but rather how I interact with it.Basically, I am unable to select any messages that send back to the controller. I can tune to different stations (ground and tower for example) but actually making contact with them is impossible. The selections are displayed in the menu but whenever I hit the key it does nothing but cease to function. It also tends to work for the start of the flight but I can never seem to get off the ground before it just stops working except for one time when it happened during my final leg of a flight.I have checked my key bindings as well and they are all set perfectly. I even went so far as to reset them and change them back but to no avail. This peculiar problem seems to mostly happen when I fly PSS products, most notably the Airbusses.I hope that I can get some help on this matter as I am completely stumped at this point, any help is greatly appreciated.
September 13, 200520 yr Author It sounds like your battery has gone flat. I assume that you can't hear any messages from ATC or other planes either? The battery on the PSS Airbuses does seem to go flat very quickly compared to other aircraft. Are the generators on the overhead panel switched on? If you have a registered version of FSUIPC then this can also be used to extend the battery life.I've also found that changing the default flight simulator flight to a "Cold and Dark" version means that the PSS Airbus generator switches don't work properly - they can show as on even when flight sim thinks they're turned off. I solved this by assigning a key to activate generators / alternators. I can then use this to force flight sim to recognise that the generators are on.Hope this helps Matthew Spedding
April 8, 200620 yr I have exactly the above problem- but my battery shows full (28V) and the generators are ON. I will check the electrical page on the FMS when I get back home and see if that provides a clue.- Neeraj
