FS9.1 won't connect multiplayer

Featured Replies

Got a bit of an odd glitch after uninstalling and reinstalling FS2004, and re-upgrading it to the .1 patch. Despite the fact that I haven't changed any settings on my router, now FS2004 simply will not connect multiplayer, either direct or using Squawkbox 3. When attempting to do a multiplayer connect to an FSHost session that I fly on a bit, no matter how many times I put in the IP and hit "search," it won't show me the session. If I use SB3, SB3 itself will connect to VATSIM, but FS2004 will not connect to SB3, it hangs at "attempting to connect to multiplayer session via lobby."I've triple-checked my router settings and all the proper ports are open to my computer running a static IP, and running DXDIAG will successfully create a multiplayer session. I'm having no connection problems in any other games, it's only FS2004. Anybody got any ideas on where I could start troubleshooting this?Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

Anybody got any ideas? I'm totally stumped...DX says it's working, the router seems to be set up right, but FS9.1 just won't "see" or connect to any multiplayer sessions.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

Download and install last DirectX version. It is very likely you can't connect because of it.Also disable all firewalls to test if firewalls are blocking your connection.Leo

Tried downloading and installing DX9.0c, but I already have DX9.0c so it doesn't install anything. I guess I'll try going around my router next, though I haven't really changed anything on the router since the last time it worked (before I reinstalled FS2004) and all the ports that should be open, are open. We'll see.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

Took my router out of the equation and it STILL won't see or connect to any multiplayer session, including one created by Squawkbox 3...but SB3 will connect to VATSIM easily. And I can't find any settings to tweak inside FS2004. Help! :-zhelp Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

Tried two other things friends suggested--uninstalled Squawkbox 3, and changed the default multiplayer port in FS9 and on my router from 23456 to 23455. No dice, it's still deaf as a post.I'm beginning to wonder if my FS9 installation might be corrupt somehow. Does anyone know what file(s) might be involved with multiplayer connections, so maybe I can grab them off a CD or from the 9.1 patch and copy them over?Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia
