Well, almost time for my South African Trip!

Needless to say, I'm excited about an upcoming trip in October....Johannesburg, SA. My wife and I are leaving Allentown, Pa., enroute to Atlanta where we board an Airbus 340-600. We fly 8 hours to SID (off the coast of Africa)- I believe that's Cape Verde, to refuel. It's a 50 minute stop (can't get off the plane) in the middle of the night. Supposedly a new flight crew boards here. From there we take off for JNB (Johannesburg)and that portion of the flight takes 10 more hours. We stay 1 night in Johannesburg in a 5 star hotel, the Westcliff. Next morning we board a Hawker Sidderly for the Bush. We're allowed to pack a 40 lb duffle bag for this trip. We take a 70 minute flight to Skukuza Airport to catch a charter 15 minute flight to Sabi Sands Game Reserve (Kruger National Park). We should enjoy several early morning "Game Drives" in search of the Big 5...Rhino, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, and Cape Buffalo. On Day 6, I fly 80 minutes to Sun City and on to the Palace of the Lost City.So....excellent flying experiences await my wife and me. I don't relish the 18.5 hours from Atlanta to Johannesburg, but supposedly the Airbus 340-600 has individual Audio Visual systems in each seat so you can "overdose" on movies and TV shows. I plan to take my new Playstation Portable and a few games. First class upgrade on SA Airways is $6,000 each roundtrip...that's $12,000 for the 2 of us. Too much for a seat that converts into a bed. We'll stick with the big tourist seats. Have any of you flown this Airbus 340-600. I hear it's a safe, reliable bird and quite large.Anyway...I just thought I'd share with my fellow simmers a trip that would be an interesting one to do in MSFS, and I fully expect to do it before we leave.Talk to you soon.
