March 31, 200620 yr Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I don't believe its hardware related.I have an issue with the menu bar dissapearing in FS2004. Basically it will flicker, then half will dissapear, then it fully dissapears. It leaves a blank space at the bottom of the screen when this happens. Once this has happened I am unable to open any other programs and unable to right click anywhere.Heres a screenshot :-http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146194.jpgI have had this issue with my current setup and prior hardware setups. Not too sure what causes it.Any ideas greatly appreciated. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
March 31, 200620 yr I get this problem too and it only started happening after I installed Walk & Follow, so there must be a dll conflict somewhere. I only seem to get it when I fly the LDS 767 however...Tim
March 31, 200620 yr It happens to me on other aircraft also. I don't use Walk & Follow, but Active Camera. Might be an issue there? Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
March 31, 200620 yr I used to use Active Camera and never had a problem, but once I switched to W&F, the menu disappear bug started. Maybe there is a dll conflict somewhere else, that the two of us share...Also, an obvious tip would be video card drivers...that didn't help me.To me, it seems to be beyond FS, because when it happens, eventually FS goes black, and if I minimize FS, I can't open anything else. The only way to restart is to hit the reset switch on the computer caseTim
March 31, 200620 yr I've tried different videocard drivers without success. Using an ATI, though I am not sure if this plays a role in the bug. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers

March 31, 200620 yr I was getting this too but I have an Nvidia and active camera, it started happeneing to me after installing the PMDG 744.Since my total format and reinstall it hasnt happened (knock on wood)
March 31, 200620 yr Dont think this would be a video card issue. Sounds like either a Windows memory issue. That could be caused by something running on your system. Check Ctrl + ALT + DEL and go to the Processes tab. See how much free memory you have. Then start checking what other add-ons you have installed. Sometimes they drop a DLL in the modules directory that might be causing you a problem. Try moving all DLLs that were not part of the original MS install and then load one of the default planes and see what happens.Just some thoughts.
