March 30, 200620 yr When I first got the Eurowings package, I was able to follow a course programmed into the FMC by selecting LNAV.Now, for some reason, when I select LNAV the button lights momentarily, as does the LNAV indication on the PFD, but then it goes out immediately and the autopilot will not follow the programmed course. Similarly, the FMC will not recognize when a waypoint has been passed.Does anyone know what's going on? Have I omitted some really basic thing? I've set the NAV/GPS switch to NAV, and ensured that the route is active on the FMC.
March 31, 200620 yr Hi, I don't have the Eurowings package, but I would guess that the NAV/GPS switch needs to be set to GPS in order to use LNAV. The NAV setting is normally used to follow a VOR radial or the ILS localiser. Matthew Spedding
March 31, 200620 yr Thanks for the suggestion. However, as far as I'm aware, with the Eurowings package, it will follow the standard FS GPS route if I select this setting and LNAV. That's OK, but what I want to do is to be able to implement the SIDS and STARS I've also programmed, and the FS GPS route will not do that. But I will certainly give it a go, and eat my hat if you're right!Matthew
March 31, 200620 yr I believe you also have to change the select switch to LNAV on another panel. It's the same panel you select plan/map zoom distance. I'm not at home right now, so I can't tell you how to get there. It's been a while since I've flown the BAe 146.Hope this helps a littleKittie
April 3, 200620 yr Thanks Kittie. Don't wish to be ungrateful, but I'd already tried that. It just displays (or is supposed to display) the heading to the next waypoint on the flight plan. It doesn't actually get the aircraft to point even vaguely in the right direction though....I think I shall just have to forget the FMC and use the FS9 flight plan via the GPS switch. Less authentic, but at least it stops ATC nagging throughout the flight. It's funny though, because I'm sure it used to work before. I've probably updated my computer system somewhere else and it's upset this program. Computers do some very strange things.
