October 11, 200520 yr Another newbie question. I've been searching for an answer to this question for the past couple of days but haven't been able to find one (probably a case of not using the right search terms): When I create a new flight, my plane always starts with the engine(s) on, the lights on, park brake on, and various other settings turned on. How do you start with everything turned off? I want to do things just like in the real world, or close to it, where the plane is parked off the runway, everything is turned off, and I have to go through all the items in the checklist to get the machine into the sky (and back).
October 11, 200520 yr Hi,Start that flight, turn everything off, save the flight while checking the save as default flight box.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
October 11, 200520 yr As stated above, turn everything off and save the flight using a unique file name, but you may want to taxi to a parking spot on the ramp at your favorite airport first. I have many saved flights of favorite aircraft parked on the ramp "cold and dark".
October 11, 200520 yr A word of warning - you may wish to leave the avionics turned on when you save your flight, as many add-on aircraft don't have an avionics switch which means that radios etc. don't work when starting from cold. Alternatively, assign key combinations to things like batteries, avionics and generators / alternators so that you can always operate these, irrespective of what switches are found on the panel! October 12, 200520 yr Remember avionics switch, and Ctrl + Shift to spool engines down. Not all aircraft have the convenient choke levers to turn engines off. Then save flight.Like other posters, I have aircraft in cold and dark phase saved to different names, such as 747cold, 737 cold, etc etc. I just then port to airport wherever I am.POf cours eif you save flight at arrival after shut down it is cold and dark when you start again.
