Flight Planning

HiThis is in FS2002. When creating or loading flight plans how can I stop the simlulator reinitialising the session. ie. For ages when I started the simulator in the most recent saved flight, and loaded a flight plan, the plan would load and the aircraft would stay in the sames place/configuration. I must have changed something because now it forces me to pick where I want to start and resets things like the clock, heading select, altitude select etc.This is most annoying when flying multiple sectors.
