Installing AI Acft

Featured Replies

Could someone tell me how to install a AI acft that I downlodaed from Avsim into FS2004? Thanks jerrycwo4

Do you just want to know how to install it or also how to make it fly flight plans? To install you should be able to just unzip the files into your aircraft folder and the proper folder structure should be set if the author set it up, most do. If you want to know how to make it fly flight plans I need to know if you want to have it take over another AI aircrafts flights or you want to create your own flight plans for it.Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

To manually add AI aircraft and flight plans to your FS world is one of the most rewarding things you can do in FS - make the world exactly as you want it.You can also find yourself completely consumed by adding AI traffic and finding flight plans and configuring airports.AI traffic requires three things to work - Models and Repaints - which you can download on this site and many othersFlightplans - again available a lot of placesModified Airport Parking - AFCAD files - you do not need to have / use the AFCAD program to use the files.AI traffic will add a lot of aircraft to your world - and you must have parking available for them.A good place to start is the complete airline packages available free - World of AI has several here on Avsim - and Project AI has a good library. Not comprehensive world wide - but you will see the major's.Eventually you will want to install individual models and repaints - AI-Aardvark has some great models with links on their website, along with EvolveAI. Most of us also use models by Fernando Martinez and FSP (FS Painter) available here on Avsim. Plus Dee Waldron and Henry Tomkiewicz have created some exceptional models - especially GA.Some exceptional GA packages - Gulfstream and Lear BizJets, Cessna C-402 Props, Boeing BBJ's - have been created by Ultimate GA.Henry also recently released a payware package ($15) of all the Cessna light single engine aircraft - from the C120 to the C210P.His C208B and C177 are available free.A couple great tutorials for learning:http://www.wilsonsairspace.com/index.html - the Jet Doctor Tutorials in the Learning Centerhttp://www.john-goodwin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.html - several useful tutorialshttp://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/howto/ai4beg.htm - on that other siteSome of the key sites:AI-Aardvark - http://www.ai-aardvark.com/Dee Waldron - http://81.208.92.5/dee_cp/fs_projects/index.htmlEvolveAI - http://www.evolveai.com/HTAI Models - http://www.htaimodels.com/Project AI - http://www.projectai.com/Ultimate GA - http://www.ultimatega.com

Reggie, this is a bit off topic, but I wanted you to know that I have seen you post many excellent and polite replies to folks' questions here and I wanted to thank you. I learn something from your thorough posts, even if I didn't have the question originally. Thanks to you and the many others (including Phillip) here who go all out to help others. Hope this poster finds your lengthy reply as helpful as I did. -jeff

Thanks for you timly and complete reply. It seems like a project for a long rainy day. It seems a lot more to it than I thought. I do have "Traffic 2005" and "Military Traffic" but I fly a lot around Hawaii and I saw in Avsim a download for a Hawaiian AI was was wondering just what it took to have it fly in and around the Hawaiian airports that I was using. Thanks again for the effort. jerrycwo4
