Air Traffic Control....for our Home Cockpit

Featured Replies

Hi guys, bear with me on this one, appologies if the answer is glaringly obvious! ;)Right, basicly, we have a BAe 146 STA simulator, full cockpit job in our building. Theres a few PCs running together to provide all of the various displays etc, I'm sure youve all seen the home cockpits anyway, they are networked. One of the things we would like to do also, is to run a PC elsewhere (in our Radio Room), that can simulate Air Traffic Control. Ie, I'd guess Glideslopes etc for the approach, and a rader "display" to see local/national traffic etc. I am sure there are ATC Simulators that can do the above, but, what we'd like, is one that could be used "offline"/standalone, but, we'd ideally like it to "plug into" our Flight Sim (runs on MSFS 2002), so the person on the ATC pc, can watch us, guide us, and indeed talk to us in the cockpit.Does anyone know of any software we can use for this? Ive used Squakbox and VATSIM before now, awesome, thats the kind of thing wed like (not seen the vatsim controller software), but we'd like it "In House" on our LAN, as opposed to the internet.Any suggestions and input appreciatedMany thanks!

There is this wonderful piece of freeware that allows you to control on a lan. ATC Radar Screen v5.0http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...s2004&Go=SearchIt's not as detailed as say the online clients, but you can do a lot with it. I've used it before in pai little flights they have on fridays. Heck I even used it on my 2nd pc to view myself. Its not bad to setup either.I also think ATC2 simulator will connect to a lan. Haven't used it for that yet.

I don't know if it exists anymore, but back in the FS98 days, you could download the server-side application to Squawkbox as well as the client-side.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have.
