Gate vs Active runway

Featured Replies

Is there any way to setup FS9 so that an aircraft you select to fly comes up at a terminal gate instead of a runway ?

There is a button on the startup screen where you select what airfield you want to start at. Down in the lower left corner of that is a drop-down that says "active runway" by default, but if you click it you'll see parking and gates as other options.

Great. Will try.Thanks for response...)

You can save your default flight to come up at a certain airport gate with other changes as well.Say your default flight is set with the Cessna (which it should be) at KSEA on the runway. Radios tuned to whatever, ATC box default size, ect..Well, you can retune the radios to what you want, set all the bugs and CDIs to 360 (I'm a little OCD), resize the ATC window to what you like, and change a few other minor things. Then go to Flights after hitting the Alt key and select Save Flight. Rename it to whatever you like, add a little description and check the box to Make This Flight Default. Just make sure you loaded the plane at a gate or parking area and pick the airport you like before hitting the Fly Now button. Then you can change the other stuff I mentioned and save it.
