Networking a 32 bit OS client with a 64 bit OS server PC ?

Recommended Posts

I have been running P3D with several add-ons for quite some time all on one pretty powerful PC running a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit operating system.

I am now interested in exploring networking in a second PC I have to off load things like AS16, ASCA, ProATC, MT6 and perhaps more. I have never setup a client PC system but am sure I can figure it out but here's my question/issue.

The second PC I would prefer to network in as a client PC is running a Windows 10 Pro 32 bit operating system. I was wondering if this would be an issue since the server would be 64 bit OS and the client a 32 bit OS.

Also will I be able to re-install my software like AS16 and other packages onto the new 32 bit OS client PC without having to buy another license and if so are they different versions one for a 64 bit OS and one for a 32 bit OS?

I am debating upgrading the 2nd PC to a Win10 64 bit OS before I take on networking but I will loose a lot of MS Office Pro software if I do this and I would prefer not to loose that software.

Additionally if I have missed other concerns I should be worried about due to mixing two different operating systems (Win10 64 bit and 32 bit) please let me know.

Thanks in advance

Found the answer elsewhere:

Makes no difference, you can and I successfully networked a PC with a Windows 10 Pro 32 bit OS with my flight sim PC that runs a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit OS. Software add-ons like AS16 and ASCA don't care if the operating system they are installed on is 32 or 64 bit I have them installed on both versions.
