Ultimate Terrain night question

Featured Replies

I was just about to get Ultimate Terrain to add to my BEV and (soon) FSG mesh. In looking at screenshots in various places, the night lighting, to me, looks very 'regular." Too regular. Just looks like computer-generated splashes of light. And the 'light points look to me much too big. And while my impression of the rest of UT is really positive, all in all, my impression of the night lighting is that it is not at all realistic.. Are these screen shots a realistic representation of the actual product? And if so, is there a way to not use the night lighting, but perhaps another night lighting?Thank you..

" And the 'light points look to me much too big."-------------I've found it can look different at different zoom levels and camera distances. So some screenshots might show the light looking too big and others it might not look bright enough. Some cities that are essentially large square grids of streets tend to look funny because you see long lines of streetlights. I imagine they are similar in real life.I think it can look good http://www.the-airfield.com/aaaa_misc/USA_...s/YAFSS_NY3.jpghttp://www.the-airfield.com/aaaa_misc/USA_...DHL_smaller.jpgYou can turn it off in the configuration program (in fact I do when I plan daylight flights as it increases autogen buildings ... at least I think it does from what I tried months ago but now forget).I dont think there is any other night lighting like this (ie, actual lights). There is at least one set of replacement night textures which show greater lighting but those are textures

Thanks DK,Your screenshots are especially helpful to see how the lights can look. You sold me.

with the setup utility, just uncheck shown residential lights, this helps with frames and gives you less really bright lights
