February 9, 200521 yr Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!A few years ago I heard about two guys attempting the first ever polar circumnavigation for a single engine piston plane in a Piper Malibu. I am interested in the specifics of their attempt especially the quantity of extra fuel the plane was modified to carry. Their intended flight path and their names if anyone remembers too. Last I heard they were forced to hangar the plane at the south pole for the winter but what happened from there? I tried Piper but they haven't gotten back. Wouldn't that be a great twist for a round the world race? Single engine pistons any path that continues north or south and touches both poles. No mods except extra fuel.:-wave
