April 13, 200620 yr I agree with Sergey!Being surrounded by some excellent Boeings (not to mention Maddog, Embraer or ATR) we desperately need a professional Airbus for FS9!PSS is nice, but definitely not up to today's LVL-D standards. The number of potential customers for such Airbuses could be overwhelming.Best Regards,Rafal
April 14, 200620 yr Sorry, but we're just not really aiming for the full systems simulation market. And we certainly don't want to bring the prices to that level. This might sound absolutely crazy on the likes of avsim where generally the posters or more interested in systems fidelity, but we had numerous posts of people who found the panel -too- complicated and wanted to merge it with the default 747 panel. (and thus wanted us to make a special model version for that, since the XML coding in the model doesn't work if you do a straight merge)If you have a look at the bigger picture in FS, I think there could be some debate about how 'popular' high fidelity products really are.Captain Sim has moved in the direction of the block system, so people can build their own package that is as complicated or as simple as they want.PMDG has their express range of products.Wilco have their own 'express' range, the Wilco Fleet series like the A380, A400M and 777 (feelthere). Groups like Perfect Flight or Abacus have been around for a long time but you wouldn't have to look hard to find a lot of critisim of their products and their quality. In a sense, what we want to do at CLS is make intermediate products that can (hopefully) be enjoyed by all in terms of using the panel and flying the aircraft, yet still provide a first class model and VC that uses many of the best features FS has to offer. We know we can't make everyone happy sadly, but we can try our best. The aircraft is the way it is because it was designed to be enjoyed by everyone rather than just people that know what they are doing. Not everyone wants to read through massive manuals of data.Ofcourse some do and there's nothing wrong with that! That's the beauty of FS, it can appeal to a wide variety of simmers. So I guess that's it really. SP1 has improved it a lot, virtual cabin model added, panel bitmaps remade to be much cleaner (more of a CG look), TCAS added and framerates are significantly better. But that's about the extent of it.
April 14, 200620 yr Bry,Thanks for responding, mate!Well, your explanation does sound reasonable and, to be honest, I realised before there is a large market for fly-in-5-minutes FS pilots. I do not own your product, but I know it quite well from numerous screenshots and other simmers' reports. In my opinion it is anyway the top level on the easy-flying market. The model itself looks excellent and the amount of work given to this product has surely been huge. I appreciate it and even was considering buying it just for the superb model and merging it with my PSS A340 panel. But, on second thoughts, I gave up since the merge wouldn't be very realistic. It is just a pity that we, hardcore simmers, haven't been given a chance again. A perfectly looking aircraft has passed aside. ;)I wish you a lot of luck with your great aircraft and I wish myself someone will finally makle a level-D airbus. Not that I mind flying boeings, but as a true plane lover, I'd die to give buses a try!Best regards,RafalP.S. "...we had numerous posts of people who found the panel -too- complicated and wanted to merge it with the default 747 panel..." - LOL
April 14, 200620 yr I see JustFlight have signed a deal, it will be nice to have a really decent A340. At least as far as flight dynamics go, sadly IMHO the PSS version is long in the tooth now and really needs a full FDE update. I seem to lose speed above about fl280 even trying to fly level.
