March 3, 200620 yr Since a few weeks ago I have a problem where FS9 will freeze while loading a flight. It usually happens within the first 10% of the load while it says "loading scenery data" or something. Basically, it will get to like %5 and stop, the hard drive will go silent, and I have to press CTRL-ALT-DEL.What could be the problem, anyone have an idea??Thanks! -Michael
March 3, 200620 yr I wish it were that simple, but no, I'm using less than half of a 160GB drive... -Michael
March 3, 200620 yr Did you install any new scenery recently? If so, try removing and trying again. Also check your scenery.cfg and make sure it is not corrupted (i.e., Areas/Layers match and are in numerical sequence).Jim
March 3, 200620 yr Thank you Jim, I checked and yes...several of the numbers in the AREA field were out of order...I corrected them, but still the same freezing problem. What's the deal witht the LAYER value? Should it match the AREA value? Because my LAYER values are about 2 to 5 higher than the AREA value for a given scenery entry... -Michael
March 3, 200620 yr Well I matched the LAYER value to the AREA value and we are back in business...thank you Jim. -Michael
March 3, 200620 yr Layer must match Area value for each indiv scenery entry. They get corrupted easily.Jim
