March 3, 200620 yr Hey guys,I've just installed a new copy of windows XP home edition, after this, I downloaded the latest drivers for my ATI 9800PRO on ati's website and I was really happy with them (CATALYST 6.2) but after some minutes flying my system freezed up after I restarted my pc I proceeded to open FS and after some minutes it freezed up again and then I thought it might have been the drivers I installed, tried the omega 6.2 from guru3d and the samething happened, so I think its not because of the drivers, not idea what could be wrong . Any help its really appreciated guys! Thanks!*the problem its only when im using FS9!sys specs:P4 3.0512mb ram120gbATI 9800 PROWin XP
March 3, 200620 yr There are so many causes for FS9 to freeze up. What did the WinXP Event Viewer show as the cause of the freeze(s). Did it mention FS9 or a FS9 module? If not, it is likely a hardware problem such as your memory, video card, or sound card not installed correctly. If the freeze was FS9 related, the cause could be duplicate AFCAD's; textures not in proper format; scenery/aircraft not properly installed; etc. I thought my ATI video card was properly installed a few times after upgrading to the latest driver but FS9 continued to crash until I manually reinstalled the ATI driver by going into the Device Manager>Displays>Update driver>then to the ATI directory where the INF is located and install. My freezes and/or CTD's stopped. Hope this helps.Jim

March 3, 200620 yr hey guys, I tried to install drivers manually but it didnt work, any ideas how to figure out if theres a video card, memory or cpu problem?Thank you!
March 4, 200620 yr in your fs9.cfg file, do you have duplicate display sections? try deleting the file and letting the game rebuild it when it starts.try uninstalling your video drivers, use a program called driver cleaner to totally clean the drivers out from safe mode, then boot back to windows normally, and install the video drivers. delete the fs9 config file, and start the game.
