March 6, 200620 yr Everytime since I got GE2006 about 10 minutes into flight, everything freezes. The ground textures go blank and then go back to normal, then everything unfreezes. I have only tried it on the level d 767. Do you think defragmenting my hardrive would fix this. Is this a Ge 2006 issue or a level d 767 issue.ThanksAlexhttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/siggies/lsd1.jpg
March 6, 200620 yr since GE2006 is only replacing your existing files you shouldnt have any performance issues. and defragmenting is always i good idea. if your fs9 folder reaches like 30-50 gb and you change a few things there can be massive shifts on the hdd. i defrag like every day in the night. i can recommend you O&O defrag 8.0 , its defrags your system when you are sleeping all alone, without having to click anything or confirming reports. ( http://www.oo-software.com/de/products/oodefrag/ im sure there are a lot of other tools that have the same quality and performance ).sometimes when you have lots of applications running in the background you dont have enough ram left for loading textures, and your system has to use the pagefiles. that can cause some delay in loading. a simple solution is using FSAustostart, it quits processes and services before starting fs9 and starts em again after quitting fs9, it although defrags your ram memory.regards , tom.
March 6, 200620 yr Thanks,I do use fsautostart. My fs2004 folder is only 2gigs. I only have the 767 and ge2006. Maybe I will unistall it and try it out.Alexhttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/siggies/lsd1.jpg
March 6, 200620 yr i sometimes had reload problems when i had like 3 meshes overlapping and set the vertex level to 21 in the config. or when you minimize fs9 during a flight and go back than it needs some time to reload. a good trick i just to watch straight down to the ground in the VC or exterior view. than the ground under you is reloaded very fast ;)there are although a few autogen mods like autogenius that overlap textures to create more auto gen trees or so, that could be a reason as well. ive heard that massive landclass file overlapping can cause texture reload problems as well. a fresh install and step by step reinstalling your tools might be the easiest way to sort out the problems.regards, tom.
March 6, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi Alex, here's another thought: there's been a few people having ground texture "loss" when using Walk & Follow with complex aircraft. If you're using W&F you might want to disable their modules to check whether that's the issue for you too.Cheers, Holger
March 6, 200620 yr I had this problem with most airplanes when the level-d was installed. unfortunately. never figured out what it was, but it goes away with the complete uninstall of the LDS, sad to say :(
