March 7, 200620 yr I know, another thread about these two. This one is easy though and should be a short thead. I have both, running GE now. How are people using both ?Thanks, Dan K
March 7, 200620 yr Copy and paste from a post Stephen, BEV developer, made in a different topic here at Avsim:"Since both BEV and GE are simply replacement textures for the FS9 default textures both will work without a hic up with UT. If you install GE over whatever you have in your world/texture folder you're going to wind up with a GE world, which I stated in my earlier post...isn't a bad world to fly in. Once GE is installed and you'd like to use BEV textures...simply re-apply your favorite theme and existing BEV textures will overwrite the GE textures and you'll now be flying with BEV textures with any gaps existing in BEV textures being filled with GE rather than the default FS9 textures. However...when you re-applied your theme the Configurator II backed up whatever you had in your World/Texture folder (in this case GE textures) and simply made them your default FS9 textures as far as the Configurator II is concerned. So let's say you're flying around with BEV textures and you come across an area where a texture just doesn't look right or because of it's primary design doesn't look all that great in some places, and creates a repeating pattern, you go to the Configurator II and choose between the various textures available from BEV and also choose the default texture (which is now GE) as a possible choice. In other words...there isn't a spot in the entire world that should be covered with default FS9 textures with the use of these two products. The soon to be released volume 5 and 6 will essentially be additional options to choose from and will fill in the remaining gaps of the BEV textures. The whole point is to make it as real as it gets...and if the combining of two products can achieve that for you...have at it. I can remember before I started producing BEV textures that I used several different texture sets from several different artist/producers to achieve a very realistic world. Heck I'm still doing it, not only with ground textures but with roads and rivers and shorelines and etc. etc. I use both UT and American Data to achieve what I feel is the best and most realistic scenery in the areas that they were designed to enhance. And now I use BEV, GE and Lynnarts textures to do the same thing with ground textures. -Stephen"=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]
