Blue taxi lights in fs2004, first time post

Featured Replies

Hello,I do not have any visible blue taxiway lights. All the runway lights are visible thought. I have a Compaq pc with a athlon 3500 and onboard radeon xpress 200 video card. Please adviseThanksBill

Before you start worrying about your hardware, my advice would be first to check whether the airport in question has taxiway lights installed.Get the excellent program from the file library afcad221.zip.This will allow you to open up the Flight Simulator coding for the airport and you will be able to see whether taxi lights are present. If they are not, look for an improved Afcad file for the airport in the file library - there is a separate section for Afcad files. These files go in the Flight Simulator/Add-on Scenery/Scenery folder. Check that Add-on Scenery is enabled in the FS Scenery Library settings area.Make sure you only have ONE add-on Afcad file for each airport, otherwise FS gets confused. If you can't find what you are looking for, you could always use Afcad to add the lights yourself - but this is likely to be a lengthy and fiddly process! If you find the lights are installed at the airport, but aren't showing on your computer, I'll have to hand you over to someone else!Welcome to the forum, full of useful tips and people, whatever your problem!

Thanks for the reply. I havent been flying at night lately and havent missed the taxi lighting. I downloaded the afcad program and saw that the taxi lights where installed and should have been visible. So in my quest for better frame rates I guess I moved one of the sliders too far to the left and lost the taxi lighting. I moved a few of the sliders back to the right and got the lights back along with lower frame rates. Now I just need to start moveing the sliders back one at a time to find out which one controlls this lighting. Does anyone know if there is detailed discription availible showing what each slider contols? Thanks Bill
