Help to Identify antialiasing option

Featured Replies

Hello, I have read that the "antialiasing option" may play a role in fps. The question is I have a Flight Simulator in Spanish and I don't know the equivalence in English, so don't know which one it is.As the structure of FS should be the same regardless the language, and as I suppose that option is one of the screenshot I am attaching, can any of you help me to place it?Thanks a lot.

It's on the Hardware page. But in any case it is best NOT to set anti-aliasing options in the sim, but instead to use the graphic card options. Which card do you have?Allcott

Thank you, Allcott.I think it's the Radeon X300 Series, at least it's what my computer says. Will it be convenient to find out it most sure?Anyway here I attach the hardware screen. Which should be the antialiasing option? Thanks again.

Suavizado.UNCHECK it in the sim, and instead set the option in the control panel for the video card. I'm not familiar with the details of the X300 but as it's a budget card I suggest you try 2x, 2xq and 4x and see which option gives you the best rersults in the sim in quality versus frame rates.Hope this helps!Allcott

You have three red check marks on the right side.Uncheck the bottom one of the three.Thats antialiasing, Bob

Ok. Thanks both. And pardon my ignorance, but I don't see any option in the control panel to try the 2x 2xq and 4x issues. Could you tell me where should I find that?Thank you again.

If you have the old "ATI Control Panel", go to Control Panel->Screen->Settings (last tab)->Advanced->3D.Then select "Direct3D", "Use custom Settings", "customize" (I think) and there you have Anti-Alias and Anisotropic Filtering settings.Marco

Thank you Murmur: I already found it by the second way. Anyway, as I didn't know anything about the anysotropic filtering, could you tell me what that is about?. It also lets me decide between perfomance and quality. Do you have any idea about which of those criterium(quality of performance) of regulating that filtering is more noticeable in FS?Thanks in advance.
