March 13, 200620 yr I've set up and saved several approach flights, with my aircraft about 25 miles out at the beginning of a STAR.I'd like to put some information into a "flight briefing" to be accessed from the kneeboard -- ILS frequencies, crossing heights etc. You could do that in FS8 using the 'notes' section of the kneeboard. Is there some way to do it in FS9? (I'm not much at html coding)ThanksBlair
March 13, 200620 yr Moderator Hi there,I don't know if this would be OK for you but I use real approach plates and brief the old fashioned way using AMICEATM....A = ATISM = Marker beacon and align directional gyro to mag. compasI = Identify navaidsC = Course (final approach course)E = Entry (radar vectors or as published)A = Altitude (all key altitudes for approach)T = Time (if appropriate for missed approach)M = Missed approach procedureThis is very manual but also very real and I've always briefed my real IFR approaches this way, which reminds me I have to get current, it's been a long winter ;-)Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.71.89), CH Yoke/Pedals I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
March 13, 200620 yr Hi Peter:That's more or less what I ended up doing. I had the Approach Plates for Vancouver, but wanted to add some handy reminders that I could call up on the screen rather than get by sticking my nose into a book. I guess it illustrates the importance of an approach briefing, even if (maybe especially if) there's only one person to do everything.Mind you, AMICEATM, isn't exactly the easiest mnemonic to remember. It's no GUMPS, lol.CheersBlair
March 13, 200620 yr What I ended up doing is just creating a new html file named the same as the saved flight, then put down my shorthand notes in very basic form -- ATIS freq.; ILS course and freq.; MDA, etc.
