Sydney International Airport

Featured Replies

I have a little problem with the defualt YSSY. When I go to the airport but look at the approach lights, I notice that instead of the normal single row of four lights, there are now instead four rows of lights first row has one light, the second has one, and the third has one. The last row of lights has four lights. What is even stranger is that unlike normal PAPI lights, these do not change from white to red depending on your position on the glideslope, all they do is remain white the entire time. However, it is not untill landing that they turn red. It doesn't matter whether I am really high or really low on the glideslope, the lights will just remain white while approaching the airport. All the runways have this. I have included some pictures of everyone to see the problem.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145720.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/145721.jpg

that's the correct setup. In Australia the lights are differnt. If you are on the proper glideslope you will only see the four horizontal lights. As you go above the glideslope you will see the single lights above the horizontal four. The higher you are the more you'll see. If you are below GS you'll see the four horizontal as red. hope that helps.regards.
