CTD and change of view

Featured Replies

For a couple of months now, I have been haveing regular CTD's.I have added and deleted so many add-ons it's pointless asking me about that.FS will fun for hours parked on the tarmac, but when in flight, i'm highly likely to get a CTD within about an hour.I don't have any other degradation in performance, in fact at altitude, I'm probably turning in 30 FPS with a lot of the sliders well overNow, it seems to me this is happening when I change views.e.g.from FSNavigator back to the cockpitfrom a view out of the side window (and therefore in VC mode I suppose in the planes I fly - PMDG 737 and LDS 767) back to the 2D cockpitDoes that ring a bell with anyone?Main spacification is:Dell XPS Gen 3, 3.6ghz Pentium 4 with 3 MB DDR 533MHZ RAMWindows XP HomeATI Radeon X800 SE 128mb PCI Express running Dell's 8.23.0.0 drivers2x 74 GB SATA hard drives @ 10,000 rpmElderly Microsoft Sidewinder Forcefeedback Pro joytickSoundblaster Audigy 2 with 5.1 speakersActiveSky 6Ground EnvironmentFS9 patched to 9.1PMDG 737 & FSCrewLevel D 767 & FSCrewMasses of AI, mostly using individual MRAI BGL's & mostly Aardvark & Evolve aircraftMostly Project AI Afcads

Well, CTD's are usually scenery based conflicts of various sorts. Landclass files and AFCADs. You might try going to: http://www.ranainside.com/ and downloading their free manager. It has a diagnostic function you might look to explore any such conflicts. If it tells you that you have duplicate AFCAD files, that's a major problem. Landclass files are analysed as well, mostly socalled "empty" texture files that might be associated with freeware products. Anyways.... their produce does ALL sorts of neat things as well. It's a start.Randy Jura, KPDX
