April 6, 200620 yr Hi everyone,I need some help. Is there anyway I can custimize my weather so I can takeoff at KSAN while its foggy and rainy and land at KSFO while it foggy in rainy too. I go to advanced weather and do it so its foggy and rainy. I T/O at KSAN foggy and rainy and then I cruise for a bit and while decending its fogy, but theres no more rain. I activate the rain again cia advanced weather. I decend until 4,000 until the rain stops again. Is there anyway where there can be rain the whole flight? (except cruise)ThanksAlexwww.fs2crew.comhttp://www.fs2crew.com/betateam.jpg

There are three ways of doing this. There is a foggy and rainy weather theme in flight simulator that will set the area in that type of weather. However, it does have a limited area of space so I am not sure if KSFO will have it, but you can try it.The other way is to go into the weather menu item of FS and set the global weather to the general settings you want - foggy and rainy. That way it will be that way everywhere you go.The other method is as you wrote. Either going to each station or you can drag an area on the map and select multiple stations to set at one time in FS.>I go to advanced weather and>do it so its foggy and rainy. Make sure that the dynamic weather setting on the main weather screen in flight sim is set to none. What might be happening is that it is set to the lowest level and it will remove rain overtime.Of if you have the FSUIPC module from an add-on it can cause it to stop raining over time. There is a setting that I believe is on the clouds tab.You might also check to see if the base of your rain level is set to the surface. I am not sure of the setting name, but on the screen where you set the rain you can set its base. make sure it is set to a negative number. That will make sure you have rain all the way down.Let me know if that helps at all. Reed StoughManaging PartnerREX SIMULATIONS website: www.rexsimulations.comsupport: www.rexaxis.com
April 6, 200620 yr Hi Alex,Using Active Sky V6 you can use our Wx Configurator to set the weather at as many stations as you wish. You can mix and match any conditions before you start you flight.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
April 6, 200620 yr Thanks,Jim,With active sky if I set all the weather stations in califronia to be foggy and rainy would it stay foggy and rainy during my whole entire flight? For example, if I T/O at KSAN and its foggy and rainy will it be foggy and rainy while decending to KSFO?Another question. If I use the active sky graphics, will it affect my FPS even if I use DXT3?Thanks for all the helpRegardsAlexwww.fs2crew.comhttp://www.fs2crew.com/betateam.jpg
April 7, 200620 yr Reed,I notice that it only rains near the weather station, so if there is no weather station nearby it will not rain. How can I just get it to rain the whole entire world with out stopping?ThanksAlexwww.fs2crew.comhttp://www.fs2crew.com/betateam.jpg
April 7, 200620 yr Hi Alex,Yes, it would. The easiest way is to set all stations to the same weather.DXT3 textures can improve FPS on low to middle systems. Some users have found that 32bit clouds even improve FPS.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
April 7, 200620 yr Ok,But I saw there is only like 4 themes, can we make our own. For exmple, foggy and rainy?Alexwww.fs2crew.comhttp://www.fs2crew.com/betateam.jpg
April 7, 200620 yr Hi Alex,Sure can! Just use the METAR codes for the weather you want to fly in or find an active METAR with those conditions and use that.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
