compessed horizon view from cockpit

Featured Replies

Hi, I recently installed a 727 panel in fs9 and noticed that the front cockpit view has a "squashed" horizon, where the bottom is black and the rest is normal. It can be fixed manually each time by stretching the bottom horizon..but im sure there's an easier way. This problem doesn't show up on any of my other cockpits. I've attached a pic showing the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Yoramhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146852.jpg

Open the panel.cfg of the aircraft (in folder ..aircraft"youraircraft") with Notepad, and find the section(Default View)X=0Y=0SIZE_X=8192SIZE_Y=2500Probably different value for this aircraft, by increasing the value for SIZE_Y will lower the outside view window. RobPS: if you start an existing flight with this aircraft, you may have to reselect the aircraft via menu Aircraft-Select aircraft

With the rather deep overhead on this panel, I suspect that you are losing the top of the outside view and, although Rob's solution will fill in the bottom of the view, the top will still be masked by the overhead. What I would do is leave the 3d view set to its present heighth, drag the view down until it is centered in the windscreen opening, then save the flight as default. The next time you start FS, the view will still be centered. R-

Yes, that does the same as the panel.cfg change.. But if he select the aircraft in an existing flight, his problem returns :-)By the way: if you also want the overhead part not to be covered, change the y= dedinition as well.Cheers, Rob

Thanks for your help Rob. That did the trick :) Best regards, Yoramp.s. Would you know where I turn off the pesky flying-tips in fs9?
