Help with AI traffic

Hello peopleI've just had a bash at creating Spring 06 flightplans for GB Airways, and while they seem to have worked, I've noticed using the MRAI traffic view board that some aircraft are sitting on the ground more than a day before their scheduled departure, eg, if it's Saturday morning, there might be aircraft at the gate that are on flights not due to leave until the next day, or even the following Thursday! Is there a trick to stopping this from happening - because at airports like Gatwick, I need all the free gates I can get!CheersRob

Hi,When you create your flight plans, are you creating them by hand or using the MRAI Compiler? If hand coding, make sure that you have the plane flying every day of the week.If using the compiler, make sure that there aren't any flight plans that only have a few legs - these are usually the ones that will sit for days. They are usually listed last in the plans for a given aircraft. I remove any plans that have fewer than half the legs of the plan with the most legs for that aircraft (just a rule of thumb). For example, if the longest flight plan has 26 legs, I remove any plans with fewer than 13 legs. While you end up with less than 100% of the legs, you do minimize planes sitting around. The other way to minimize this is to add ferry flights to out of the way airports to let the planes sit there instead.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

EasyTiger,I was just in the process of doing the GB Airways myself but I might move onto something else if you are doing them. It sounds like you did them in MRAI compiler hence the long standing periods that Tom talks about. Would love to get a copy of them. Are you going to post them here at Avsim?RegardsMiles
