Installation procedures / AI Lights Reborn

Dear all,

It has come to my attention via remote support sessions offered to help some customers and also by reading different topics on forums hosted on different websites, that many users have decided to:

1) Install the AI Lights freeware. 

2) Copy the effects and textures directly inside your PD3 default effects folders, which will overwrite the default PD3 V4 effects.

3) Uninstall the AI Lights Reborn free edition leaving the effects installed on the system inside of PD3 default folder.
 

You should be aware that this is not the way the software was designed or intended to run and operate, the freeware package (and future payware package) is designed to use the new .XML add-on method which will:

A) Give you the opportunity to survive PD3 re-installations.

B) Avoid AI Reborn effects being overridden when you Repair the PD3 content.

C) Avoid AI Reborn effects being overridden when you apply Lockheed Martin patches in future.

D) Leave your PD3 default effects intact so if you wish to revert to your default effects for any reason you are able to do so without any trouble.

E) You can enable or disable the AI Lights Reborn effects via the PD3 Add-on's menu very quickly, this is very useful when you are trying to debug problems.

F) Avoid problems when you upgrade to a newer version of AI Lights Reborn in the future.

H) Avoid problems if you wish to upgrade to the profesional edition in the future.

I put a lot of engineering, work and effort in creating an good installation program for you in order to offer the perks explained above, and for these reasons unless I have explicit instructed otherwise to you via email please always use the oficial installer and do not replace your PD3 default effects.
