April 27, 200620 yr Hi Guys,Something that I thought of regarding the 777 series in MSFS, is that ever since the days of FS98, we haven't seen a highly detailed freeware 777 panel which is developed at the same standard of Lonny Payne's 757 panel, Bill Grabowski's ERJ-145 panel, Simon Topmann's A300-600 panel and Eric Marciano's A320 and A330 panels. I'm not saying that a highly detailed freeware 777 panel should be at the same level of complexity of the iFly team's 747-400, I'm just saying that it should be at the same standard of the freeware authors whom I just mentioned before the iFly team. What I meant by mentioning the days of FS98 is Kentaro Kaneko's 777 panel for FS98. For those of you who don't remember this fantastic panel, check out these old articles from Avsim:http://www.avsim.com/pages/0199/blue_ribbon/panels98.htmhttp://www.avsim.com/pages/1298/bz_feature/panels.htmRegards,
April 27, 200620 yr WOW! I was but a young lad when I wrote those articles. It's amazing to see how far we've come since then, for better and for worse.
April 28, 200620 yr Indeed, Mike!! :-hahDon't you think that we really do need a highly detailed freeware 777 panel, in the same league of the development standards of Lonny Payne, Bill Grabowski, Simon Topmann and Eric Marciano??Regards,
April 28, 200620 yr You know, I totally agree with you, we need a high fidelity 777 from the freeware world, but I can't see it coming. The iFLY 747 was a giant surprise and is almost on par with the PMDG but I can't see a 777 of that calibur coming any time soon.Since 1998, complexity has skyrocketed along with the price of owning those aircraft. It's a different world now I'm afraid.
April 30, 200620 yr Bumping this up, just to see if I could get more opinions in this topic. :-hahRegards,
