Brigher texture-zones under and around aircraft...

Featured Replies

Hi!When I`m flying I see a brighter texture-zone under and around the aircraft. I assume it`s some 10 nm of a diameter. Outside this zone the textures are a bit darker. It`s not much of a difference, but enough to make it unrealistic and irritating. As I fly ahead the zone follows the aircraft and changes the color-tone a bit. http://server5.pictiger.com/img/271014/com...textureflak.phpIs it possible to do something about it?Regards,Jan Ove

Could it be that your mip-mapping setting is just way too strong? Check the advanced graphics options in FS and set it to 4 if it's higher.Regards,http://www.bremmekamp.com/img/misc/avsim.jpg

Hi!I tried your tip, but without any results. The zone was still present. The change only had affect on the textures clearness.RegardsJan Ove

Hi,I know this isn't going to help too much, but one of your default .dll's or a .cfg has been modified. I tried to refresh my memory as to which one, but I couldn't pull anything up. I thought is was discussed at SimFlight. Don't mess around with your settings as it has nothing to do with that. I am sure that another user will remember!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Is this at all similar to the way water textures have a "dead zone" directly beneath the plane in which all effects and reflections disappear?

In a way yes, but the transition from brighter textures to darker ones isn`t that dramatic. But again, it`s noticeable enough to irritate me! When I look to the ground or sea-level you can see the constant changing colortones from near spots (brigthest) to the farther ones (a bit darker) as the aircraft flys ahead. This results in an urealistic flight experience. I can`t remember when this situation occured, `cause it`s a while ago. I really hope someone knows what to do. Maybe it has something to do with installing new textures? Or that the machine is to slow to update the nearby surrounding areas? Who knows...RegardsJan Ove

Never happened to me, but I brought it up because I sure would like to have the water dead zone "fixed"...seems to me an incureable flaw of the sim, though.

Have you replaced your default grass texture lately? I got the exact same effect with a new grass texture, and with the original texture put in, it went away. I can't remember the exact txture, but I did a search here on AVSIM forums asking about bright textures, and I got the anser. Good luck
