Sirkorsky S76 - Gila Bend to Goodyear, AZ

Featured Replies

Arguably my favorite helicopter, I just love the sleek look of the S76, the retractable gear, and the autopilot Xplane11 includes on the S76....  The two lakes shown are Estrella Mountain Ranch in Goodyear, AZ, a beautiful master planned community.  There are paths that circumnavigate both lakes, and I've taken walks there with the beautiful Estrella mountains as a backdrop.  Estrella Mountain Ranch has its own schools, strip mall and a rec complex for the folks lucky enough to live there (I can't complain though, my apartment complex has four pools, LOL)

Homebuilding on a massive scale, which brought in hundreds of thousands of people over the last several decades, has decreased the arable land in our desert.  Out of Gila Bend, Buckeye, Maricopa, Casa Grande, there are still farm fields.  Also around Luke Air Force Base, there is farmland there as a buffer to keep homes out of the flight pattern for the Air Force Base, where mostly flowers are grown.
