Weather from Papua New Guinea / Port Moresby ??

Featured Replies

Howdy???????Like to fly in remote and demanding places. Because of high mountains, beautiful islands and well designed flightsim add-ons, PNG is one of my favourite places in the virtual world. But MS-Fltsim cannot fetch the real weather datas from Port Moresby (or Papua new Guinea)--- this is a mayor draw back for me, because flying in real weather is what I really enjoy.Does anybody have a freeware solution for this? I mean I can always get the real METAR datas from there and create this kind of weather with the built in weathermaker. But this is no fun, since I will never run into something unexpected like in the real world.Salutations DHarry_____PS; The ony tiime you have too much fuel is when you're on fire!

I fly in this area a lot and have never had a problem with real weather ... maybe there's a glitch in your install?MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Seems that I aint alone to fly in PNG and the Solomons then :D ?I've the same feeling that FS9 doesnt catch weather there very well. Weather is almost always clear and nice. No tropical clouds, storms, rains whatever... I suspect than these countries being in such disarray that the weather administration is not high on governemntal priority ?

Many thx guys for your response.Just nice to know that I'm not the only one with the "real nice wather syndrome" in this region .... getting a sunburn from all the sun down there (in a virtual kind-of-way, of course) LolCheers DHarry____PS; Forget about Bernoulli and Newton, thrust and lift, gravity and airflow, etc. An airplane flies because of money !

Hi,I also love to Fly PNG and the Solomons as I once worked for Air Niugini, Talair and Solair. I also love Vanuatu as we (me and she who must be obeyed) visit there on a regular basis. I use the FS9 weather and it gives reasonable cloud cover but naturally nothing like the real world. Anybody done any Talair repaints??Cheers SemmBrisbane
