What is the determining factor of brighter external lighting

Hello all, I am trying to understand what setting affects external lighting the most. It seems that sometimes, the lighting of my aircraft are perfect (ReaAir, C310, A2A) and then, for some reason, they hardly light the tarmac and taxiways. I have tried, when the latter happens, turning on and on HDR, same with dynamic etc.

So, is there anyone setting that will affect the brightness of the external lighting?
