If not, they are down. The link is worth saving as a "Favorite" for future reference.http://fs2k.zone.com/

Doesn't look like the site is working either, all i get is a 'Page cannot be displayed', hopefully will be back soon

Yep - its down.Is there an alternative? You can change where Fs9 goes to get weather in the FS9.cfg file.I also had to try several times before FS9 would stop trying to access the site - just changing the setup in the sim didn't seem to fix it, kept getting those annoying messages - it would be much better if it simply said "real weather not available" - and kept going..Geoff

Weather seems to be downloading fine for me!!Did I mention that I'm using Active Sky v6? ;-)

Yep, confirmed. Weather server must be down. Total drag.

If you change the weather to something other then real weather from the Create a Flight screen before starting a flight then FS9 won't give you real weather error messages. Not sure about this, but if a real weather flight is in a paused state, you may be able to load the flight, quickly change the weather, and then hopefully not get annoying error messages.Incidently, my FS9 has a habit of not actually quitting (the window vanishes but it's still listed in task manager) after it's failed to download real weather and I tell it to quit. I figure there's some sort of loop in the real weather system that keeps trying to download real weather multiple times and doesn't listen to anything else. Thus the real weather download error messages after changing the weather to something else. And to answer another question here: There is no backup weather server and nothing else to redirect FS9 to get weather from.Wouldn't surprise me if they've been adding new features to the weather server for FSX and are bug testing it, that could explain why it's been going down recently."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."

>FSMetar_Freeware Weather Program>>Simple, efficient, and FREE. (multiple servers, your choice:>IVAO, VATSIM, NOAA)>>http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/fsmetar/Dogknot:I've been meaning to try FSMetar.... does it work with WideFS? And.. would you know how it is on resource-usage in comparison with ActiveSky 6? I have AS6, but I found that on my much older WideFS machine (used solely for WideFS apps), AS6 really eats up some resources when combined with the load of FS Flight Keeper and Radar Contact 4.Any idea? Thanks for any info!

I don't know if it works with WideFS or not, haven't had active sky since it's inception--don't have AS6 so no comparison there. I don't notice any discernable hit while FSMetar is running (other than when layers and layers of clouds are really there). Not much help for you at all. :-(

At least you replied. :) I'm going to give FSMetar a try. Thanks again!

When using FSMetar, for me at least, it seems to make the clouds jumpy. As if every 5 seconds it's clearing the weather and putting the same weather back in. It's NOAA download is also broken, but VATSIM uses current NOAA weather and still works. It also acts like it is locked (window doesn't draw or respond to mouse clicks) up whenever it's downloading weather, and may make your system a bit jumpy when FS9 is minimized. Can't say I noticed that as a problem while flying. I'll take default real weather over FSMetar when available. And the real weather server is up."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
