June 18, 200619 yr > Load them one by one in Radar Contact.> The one using your cool utility "clips" the first letter off>the name of each waypoint. The notepad version doesn't. My version executes a 'Trim' method which removes all unnecessry spaces. However the Flight Planner creates Waypoint names with a leading space. Your Radar Contact program must be reading Waypoints from the 2nd character onwards!!!In Version 3 I'll put back the leading space on the Waypoint name!ThanksJim
June 20, 200619 yr Yep that is the problem! Radar Contact is an add on that replaces the default ATC in fs with something more realistic and thorough. It handles DPs and STARs, holdings, and just about everything else better and doesn't have that otherwise annoying habit of turning you back and forth 3-4 times 90 miles out to get you lined up to intercept an ILS and many other improvements. It even has a FAA officer who will review your behavior and scold you if you bust altitudes, miss ATC calls, or otherwise deal with ATC like a idiot. Unfortunately it doesn't replace VFR ATC, which I do a lot of (in part because I was annoyed with the default IFR ATC). Radar Contact has a strong following and has sold well as far as I can tell. I purchased it relatively late, since I do mostly VFR but now I love it and have begun flying IFR all over again and almost exclusively. Flying VFR, I was locked out of many of the California coastal airports I enjoy (e.g., KMRY, KACV, KAVX) which always have low ceilings or are IFR much of the day due to the ocean. Somewhat expensive for an add on but an active support/enthusiast forum and responsive support staff. Goggle it. I forget the web address.Radar contact reads your flight plan to determine the controllers/frequencies you will be in contact with at departure, enroute, and at destination and monitor your progress to waypoints. cheers.
June 20, 200619 yr Version3 is now ready for upload. It re-instates the leading space so that should solve your 'Radar Contact' problem. You can now select Waypoints and shuffle them up or down and you can also insert a Waypoint anywhere in the list. Will not upload until the weekend just in case there are any more reported anomolies or requests for extra features - one person has asked for 100 Waypoints!!!! (No plans to do that!!)RegardsJim
