Orbx Northern California Tour - Leg 5 (Redux)

This Saturday’s flight is a variation of a tour that we did in April 2014.   Starting at Crescent City (KCEC) the route proceeds south past the Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park and up the Klamath River drainage to Hoopa (O21) and then over the Trinity Alps and down to Trinity Center (O86) on Trinity Lake.  Continuing to the east we cross the upper Sacramento river above Redding to Fall River Mills (O89), then southeast over Lassen Volcanic National Park to Lake Almanor (O05).   Turning back to the west, we fly over Redding Airport and land at the smaller Benton Field (O85).   Continuing west we fly over the Trinity River several times landing at Weaverville (O54), Hayfork (F62), and Garberville (O16) before landing at Shelter Cove (0Q5) on the Pacific coast.   To complete the tour we land at Rohnerville (KFOT) before finishing at Murray Field (KEKE).

The flightplan is available here.

NOTAM:  Pineapple Express Warning for this Weekend

Seems like real time weather conditions may be poor for Saturday's flight.

For those using activesky weather, recommend you choose "Historical Dynamic" with Date of May 7, 2017 , 1900Z.

We will have an opportunity to practice our instrument flying next week in the Q400.
