June 26, 200619 yr Anyone else having trouble with the plane maintaining altitude controlled by the autopilot?Say I set 8000. The plane will blow through it and the vsi will slowly creep down but not before Im at least 300-500 above. Then it will slooowly level out and will descend at 3000fpm and you will hear the engines slowly decrease to maintain my set speed. Then the plane will descend through 8000 again and sloowly pitch up with the engines sloowly increasing but not before Im again 300-500 below. This is a endless cycle like a roller coaster.Any help appreciated.
June 27, 200619 yr Hi Jim-Jam,Yes I have the same problem too. I have posted this and others on the 'Just Flight' forum for attention. At first I also had a problem with the 'A/T' but have now sussed it out.The only level I have found where you don't get the 'roller-coaster' effect is FL200 and above. This is clearly a 'bug' that needs fixing.Thinking last night that it could be a possible 'FSUIPC' problem maybe?I am awaiting Just Flight's response. Always makes me wonder who, does the beta testing on these things and why they are so obviously missed? Dave Taylor
June 27, 200619 yr I have had simular problems with others such as their 777 and ERJ.This is a great plane and Ive flown over a dozen flights and it does not happen everytime. I flew yesterday for a few flights in heavy thunderstorms and it worked fine. Then on one flight when I engaged the loc, it began its intercept and lost 500 feet.I am also having problems with speed. The engines idle at 20% so slowing it down to land usually involves full flaps, gear down and speedbrakes.I am using the free FSUIPC, Saitek x52 and active Sky. Ive fooled around with my joystick settings, sens, deadzone ect and turned off Active Sky. Will seem to behave and then all of a sudden I find myself riding that roller coaster with ATC yelling at me.
June 27, 200619 yr Jimjam,Solved it! The roller coaster mullarky. Its a FSUIPC problem caused by a setting that I and maybe you made for another aircraft? My solution, set FSUIPC back to Defaults and 'wahlaa'. Dave Taylor
