Is there a system to how FS assigns runways for takeoffs and landings? I notice that most of the time, it seems to assign runways going WITH the wind rather than against it. I always thought it went by the wind speed and direction but that doesn't seem to be the case. What is the wind speed base that is goes by? 7kts 10?Just curious.

It depends upon the airport and wind speed. Remember in FS2004 Rwy 1 and Rwy 19 are not different runways - but different ends of the same runway.Some airports will not change direction for anything short of 35 kts.AI traffic also has an impact if you use it - because FS cannot turn an airport while any aircraft are active, even if the weather changes.But the basic assignment is that you will be directed to takeoff on the runway whose center point is closest to the aircraft asking for taxi instructions.There are some documented experience for AI jets and runway length if you wish to check at Project AI's forums on the AFCAD section.
