Several days ago, there was a thread about the SID/STAR download in the Avsim library, and people seemed to be having problems getting it to work. I just wondered if anyone has been able to successfully implement the procedures from the FMC.Is this file worth grabbing?:-bluegrab

I probably am the party that posted the original thread relative to this subject. I asked the question whether anyone had been able to include them successfully. There were no replies to that end.I still have not been able to implement them satisfactorily. Some seem to at least partially work while others do not at all.No transition points are displayed or available.The only way I have been able to fly the SIDS and STARS is to manually enter all of their waypoints into the CDU which does leave something to be desired.The most confusing thing to me is that the same procedure does not seem to display for different SIDS and/or STARS. Even though they are displayed, some activate, some don't. For some if you activate your runway first (like all my other birds with FMC's) it tells you that no SIDS or STARS are available even though they were displayed before that step. For others I can click the Sid or Star first and then the runway, (Backwards for other birds with FMC's) they are checked as activated. Others in the conventional way for all of my other birds work if the runway is chosen first, the SID or STAR options are displayed.In all cases, the flightpath may or may not at least partially follow the SID or STAR. No Fixes are displayed in the CDU and the aircraft seems to parallel the SID or STAR flightpath and cut corners. Only the cardinal waypoint is shown in the CDU display. I hope a solution is found for these problems as I think this aircraft is a fine contribution to FS. Good luck:RTH

I was afraid that would be the case. Thank you for your feedback.I agree, this is an excellent freeware package. Not only the aircraft, but the effort to put out an update that appears to correct many issues (which I plan to try out this weekend).I hope these guys continue their work.:-beerchug
