To upgrade capabilities on my P-8 and P-3 platforms while doing surface search, it'd be great to have a view ships option like the view aircraft option. A 30 mile radius of ship traffic should be sufficient since these aircraft have adequate surface search capabilities at ranges approximate to that or greater.

Thanks to the savvy one to figure out how to do this first.

Hello Scott,

to my best knowledge, this is not possible with the built-in viewing system. Only the camera categories "AirTraffic, Runway, Multiplayer and Tower" can be instance based, like the AI Planes view is (=the sim automatically creates a new camera that is centered on the object that you want to watch).

Something like this can be done programmatically though, by creating an observer view through SimConnect that is following a ship (or any other simobject for that matter)
