AFCAD

Featured Replies

After doing a reinstall of FS9 and AFCAD 2.21 I am having trouble changing airport sceneries. I open the default airport and change the preferences for takeoff/landings on the runway settings. I save the changes and AFCAD saves the new file in Addon Scenery/scenery. Everything appears to act normally. Yet when I start FS9 and go to the changed airport, the start runway is still the default in spite of the fact that I changed that runway to "do not allow takoff". I have done this several times with the same results. The ADCAD2 file is in the Addon Scenery/scenery folder just as it should be. Any suggestions? Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Might be several reasons. One that comes to mind quickly is that there are several airports where user modifications are notoriously disregarded. Default EHAM for example. So it very much depends on which airport you are trying to modify. Could you be more specific?

First question is which airport and which runway? Also, in FS2004 it's different than FS2002. You can set Rwy 15/33 to not allow takeoffs on both ends. But you cannot set only one end to allow takeoffs and the other to not allow them. There are some tricks you can do with start locations - but those cannot make a runway "head to head" i.e. land on Rwy 15 and takeoff on Rwy 33.Also if there is only one runway at the airport with an ILS - that airport must remain open for landing - on both ends.Any different settings will be detected by FS as errors in the addon airport data (AFCAD file) and changes beyond the default runway properties will be ignored.
