I am having a heck of a time installing this beta from FP. When I open the file with WinZip, there's tons of options to click on (exe's) and the FSX one gives an error. The setup.exe says "error reading setup initialization file"Ideas?thanks,

Have you extracted all of the files from each zip file into one folder?

well guess i should clarify what you downloaded..I downloaded 4 individual zip files (which were 1.8+gigs each), and I believe some downloaded the full 8gig file. Which did you get? If you got the 4 individual zips then you need to unzip into one folder and then run the executeable. I would assume the same would be true if you downloaded the full 8 gig file.

I downloaded the full 8 gig file and it has tons of .exe's and .zip files and .dll's and all (to be expected) but I finally found the setup.exe, press it, and it gives an error.

Dear Sir, What I beleive you are lookng at is the "Classic" interface of winzip if I am not mistaken. If you have the current winzip Two things might help.....One, switch to the "Winzip Wizard" and it will open the folder for you. then just find the " setup " exeTwo locate where the folder is where FSX was unzipped and look for it there.MANY folks have complained about corrupt downloadsfrom Fileplanet ( though this was NOT the case in my situation )Perhpas you are one of those unlucky ones (( Like those of us who didnt get keys ))I hope this helps.

make sure you unzip the entire contents of the zip file to a folder then run the setup file. Usually you can't run an executable within a zip file.

I have it installing now. Totally goofed (and figured I was , but couldnt figure out where!) and now I have success since I did what you just advised. Forgot that running an .exe within winzip didnt work all the time.thanks,
