August 30, 200619 yr Hi,I am wondering if the issue of using real world weather at altitude still causes sudden large changes in airspeed, causing your aircraft to go well into overspeed and stressed to the point being overstressed(aircraft crash) and resetting the situation(with 'detect aicraft crashes' and 'reset situation' and 'aircraft stress causes damage' checked of course) been addressed? Or will we depending upon Pete Dowson or someone else outside of MS to solve this issue yet again?Sorry to be blunt with my question, but this problem has been with FS ever since FS2002 and Pete Dowson has come up with a fix for this behavior for both FS2002 and FS2004, and it took MANY months for him to come up with the FS2004 fix. Prior to him coming up with the FIX my PMDG 737 was overstressed many times, until I finally decided to play with the unrealistic option of detecting aircraft stress.
August 30, 200619 yr I wouldn't bet upon it - but without a beta we can't test. The issue is caused by the weather boundaries, and somewhat emphasized by "clear and standard" default when an weather area is without reports for awhile.A post by tdragger in response to another thread on weather at TNCM defaulting to clear skies and 59 F - indicated that addon weather programs will continue to have smoothing such boundaries as a major selling point - i.e. FS will still have the issue of "clear and standard" weather bubbles.
August 30, 200619 yr Well you might be betting correctly. Yes, we don't have a beta. But, members of the ACES team have answered a number of questions about what we can expect from FSX, so I thought I would ask since I am wondering about it.
August 30, 200619 yr Yes, it would be great indeed if this has been fixed!Thank the makers and Thank You for the reply tdragger. :-sun1Cheers
