What are about night enviroment???

Featured Replies

Hello!First of all, thanks ACES Team for bringing this DEMO.After install the demo and test it for several hours I'm really disappointed about performance so I had to turn off all autogen objects and light bloom effect to get a poor 15 fps. But my main preoccupation is about night enviroment. I know you're still working on it but something tell me that there are signs that night appearance will be the same that FS2004, 2002 and 2000. Lighting system that uses the airplanes is the same that we saw in FS2002/04 and it's totally unrealistic because hardly light the ground and doesn't illumine any 3d object front the plane. Also,I kept my eyes in default airports and I think they will be dark again in this version, it's shameless that after a lot of Flight Simulators we're still watching the platforms in the darkness.Maybe we had to wait to DirectX10 patch to think over dynamic lighting, that it could find the solution about how light 3D objects and ground at the same time, but I think that directx9 can do it. Parkings in airports are now full of life (moving cars, baggage cars...) and you should find a way to see them at night.Anyway, I'm very pleased about efforts that ACES Team are doing, especially Tdragger who is always checking this forum to resolve any dude.RegardsPablo

In regards to the light bloom issue, it says in the readme that light bloom isn't functioning properly yet so that's why it's causing a slowdown.

Yeah, you'd think they'd at least make the lighting colors correct for the remaining 2,000' of runway to the correct amber/orange, instead, they leave the yellow. I've yet to see a runway with yellow lights at the end; all the ones I've seen are amber/orange.Allan
