Prepar3d Pirep for new user

I have just run across Prepar3d and don't know anything about it. I have X Plane, but have some problems with it. I used to use MS Flight Simulator many years ago and really liked it. I really liked the IFR scenario flights in particular. My understanding is that Prepar3d is built off that architecture of MS Flight Simulator? Is it pretty similar in operation and look? Does it have the IFR scenario flights like MSFS did? I'm just trying to find something I can use again to practice IFR procedures and stay proficient in that. Thanks for all the info.

Yes it does.

It is very similar to FSX but with the improvement of being 64bit and using PBR (Physical base rendering).
