Linda installation problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I downloaded LINDA 3.0.9.809 and have reg FSX Deluxe Edition & reg FSUIPC 4.974 installed.

The manual says to ".. unzip the folder and copy the \Modules and \Sound folders...". There is no \Sound folder. Also the inclusion of "..\Your Flt Sim folder" in the folder tree is a bit weird, any folder before \Modules is not really necessary.

I copied the \Modules folder into C:\FSX.

Running Linda and going to Setup Joysticks, all seems ok.

When going to Maintenance there is no value at the Linda Source. Selecting C:\FSX\Modules gives me an error msg: "There was a problem accessing the LINDA install folder C:\FSX\Modules\Your Flt Sim folder". And also: "[Err: The system cannot find the path specified (3)]".

Linda also states that it has found FSUIPC 4.973 which should be 4.974.

Hope you can help me.

Cheers,

Xentric

Hi Xentric

The sound folder was moved to inside the LINDA data folder in the most recent update. Thank you for pointing out the erroneous wording in the release notes.

The automatic module installation requires you to first download and unzip an available modules. You then use the Maintenance option to locate the downloaded module and click to install it. The warning is displayed if you haven’t  drilled down to the correct level.

I will look at the FSUIPC version number reporting. It is possible it hasn’t been changed in the latest release.
