May 19, 200620 yr It would be nice if there was some sort of backup server for the realtime weather data. (Especially if FSX will be using the same server that FS9 does.) I know the server info is in the FS9.cfg and assuming FSX will do things similarly, it would be nice if you could just edit the config file (or load a new profile?) and change it from fs2k.zone.com to, say, fsx.zone.com (or vice versa) when the main weather server goes down. (Like it is now.) :)"Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
May 20, 200620 yr You can certainly change the URL now--but's there's only one server. We probably won't add any servers ourselves (when they are running the server load is very managable from a volume standpoint). We might look at documenting the protocol, though, which would allow third-parties to host their own servers.

Sounds great http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/Dar...humbsupblag.gifWill you document the WX file format in a future SDK? Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
May 20, 200620 yr <Probably not. We don't like to rely on file formats for the SDK since it makes it harder to change them.
