SimConnect with ActiveSky Next.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

First of all I am a network noob so please bare with me. I recently came accross an idea that we can run FSX on two pcs with one running the sim itself and the other running addons like ASN and Radar Contact.

I saw Froogle's video on how to get fsx on network. Also, there is a specific video for activesky next to run it on a different pc. I did exactly same what was shown on the video. Here is one question which I have.

Q. Do I have to install ASN simconnect on the client as well as the server pc? If yes, On the client pc, where should I install the software?

Because I have installed ot in both pc in respective  C drive.

Problem:

ActiveSky Next is stuck on Initializing phase. Also, if I start FSX on server comp, it does not indicate "FSX CONNECTED".

I believe there are three files

1. SimConnect.cfg

2. SimConnect.ini

3. SimConnect.xml

I have all three rightly configured and placed.

Also, I dont know why but I face a problem with the permission of editing program files(x86) folder from a different computer. I mean i cannot edit client pc from server pc although my full C drive is Shared along with full control.

Please help!

There is some info here that may help. Once you've got the configuration sorted it is well worth the effort to have AS16 on a different PC
